Mischa was bred by Bonnie Nichols of Nickolai Borzoi. Bonnie was a dear friend and mentor, and left us much too soon. She bred her Amber to my Nico in April of 2011. In June, the Winds litter was born. In August, Bonnie passed away unexpectedly. Her friends in the borzoi community worked together to ensure all her beloved dogs had homes! I had responsibility for placing the puppies sired by my dog.
Mischa went to Virginia to live with Carol Stockton. Carol was looking for a special borzoi to be her companion, and was referred to us by a friend, who heard of Bonnie's passing. She called and asked about Mischa, who was still available. After several phone and email conversations, she drove to Ohio to meet him. They fell in love with each other, and Mischa left with Carol that weekend! Carol and Mischa dabbled in the show ring long enough for Mischa to receive his conformation championship, and also did some racing and lure coursing. I couldn't have asked for a more loving and responsible home for him, and I know that Bonnie is thrilled that he is so loved.
Mischa qualified for both AKC and ASFA lure coursing, and he is pointed in ASFA. Mischa is DM cleared by parentage.
